For our 2nd game of the season, the Hounds headed to Murray Bergtraum's Verizon Field. Once again Mother Nature threw a monkey wrench in our plans. It looked for a moment as if the game would not get played, but after a conference between the ump and the grounds crew, it was "Play Ball!"
Our opponents were a team called the Rams, and they gave us a good fight. They took the lead early and made the plays they needed to make. The Hounds were down 4-1 heading into the bottom of the third. We then mounted a furious comeback, led by crucial hits from Cindy, Juiena, and Amy. Wink blasted a game-tying three run home run. Mega came in the game in relief and pitched masterfully. Heading into the bottom of the 4th, we were down 5-4 and the ump told us these were our last licks.
Push got a big hit and after a fielder's choice, it was cleanup hitter Justin's turn at bat. He hit a wicked, spinning ball down the right field line , and once it got past the right fielder, we all knew that victory was ours. A game-winning 2-run home run by J-Hizzle seals it, Hounds win 6-5.
