Opening Day: Hounds Roll, 24-4

After much anticipation, opening day finally arrived for the Hounds and it could not have come too soon. We were all chomping at the bit to play our first game. Unfortunately, Mother Nature was uncooperative and we had to play in a steady rain.

Our opponents, a team called Scared Hitless, seemed to be hesitant to play, so their name was very appropriate. Once we finally got underway, the Hounds scored early and often. The offense was led by home runs from Josh and George, but the production was spread around. Defensively, the standout among many solid players was Pushpita, who made a couple of dazzling, run-saving catches in the outfield. Mega pitched a great game and went the distance. Overall, a very solid effort by the Hounds. There are some areas that need improvement though if we are to contend for the title. Good thing we have plenty of time to work out the kinks.

One highlight of this game was the umpire, Terry, who did his job very well and with great spirit. If we're lucky, he'll work more of our games this season. Final Score: 24-4.

You forgot to mention the vital role I played in retrieving the foul balls (3 I believe) that were hit over the fence. You're welcome!
